CINCINNATI - You might call them One Percenters, those Cincinnati companies that made this year’s Inc. 5000 list, recognizing the nation’s fastest-growing privately held companies.
Fifty of the companies on this year’s list are from the Cincinnati area, down from 55 companies in 2012.
“It’s exciting for us,” said Todd McHugh, president and co-founder of Omega Processing Solutions in Fort Thomas. “Anytime you’re recognized nationally, that’s big.”
Omega is a payment-processing firm that reported $6 million in 2012 revenue to Inc. magazine, up 73 percent from 2009. The 41-employee company doubled the size of its headquarters this year and hired five new employees in the last 30 days.
The largest in this year’s group is Advance Pierre Foods, the $1.5 billion food and beverage company with 4,000 employees and a three-year growth rate of 173 percent. The smallest is Copperfox Marketing, a $2.1 million advertising shop with 17 employees and a three-year growth rate of 284 percent.
