CHICAGO -- AdvancePierre Foods Inc. said it plans to launch its Classic Big Boy Double Deck Cheeseburger in June.
The new sandwich, created in cooperation with the Big Boy restaurant chain, captures the appeal of its signature burger, piled high with two all-beef burgers layered on a three-piece sesame seed roll and topped with Big Boy's special sauce and American cheese. Each sandwich is individually wrapped in clear packaging that prominently features the Big Boy logo and mascot for maximum brand recognition.
Big Boy's Classic Double Deck Cheeseburger reportedly makes up more than a quarter of the chain's restaurant sales. The Warren, MI-based chain, founded in 1936, attracts more than 23 million guests annually. The brand is said to have 70% name recognition, and the Big Boy mascot reportedly has greater than 90% awareness among consumers.
Cincinnati-based AdvancePierre Foods Inc. produces a wide variety of fully cooked frozen sandwiches and other convenience foods for vending, convenience store, schools, foodservice, retail and military markets.
