We are pleased to announce that our company is implementing a matching gifts program to continue our support for the victims of the devastating tornado in Moore last week. For every dollar our associates donate to the American Red Cross, AdvancePierre will match with $.50, up to $15,000.
During the past week, we trucked in over 175,000 servings of hamburgers, chicken strips, meatballs, sandwiches and other products to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Salvation Army to serve to tornado victims and relief workers. We are planning on sending at least two more trucks loaded with our products to the Food Bank this week.
We have collected and delivered to relief teams clean-up equipment like rakes, shovels, trash bags and gloves, as well as necessities like diapers, bottled water, hand sanitizer, sunscreen and non-perishable food items. We will continue to do so in the coming weeks.
Our Oklahoma associates are ready to help out anyway they can. In fact, four of our Enid associates spent their Memorial Day holiday helping with the clean-up efforts in Moore, clearing and sifting through debris to find valuables, clothing and other salvageable items to return to the victims. We have additional associates ready to jump in and help with the clean-up efforts later this week and next.
We are so proud of all our associates for rallying together to help our neighbors in this time of need.
