David Barber joined Barber Foods in Portland, Maine in 1981, beginning his career in quality control for the company’s Operations department. He later went on to work as a line supervisor and production manager.
In 1985, Mr. Barber and his brother Stephen made the decision to grow the company and expanded its food service business, hiring brokers and regional managers around the country and Canada.
In 1988, he became vice president of Sales and Marketing, which included responsibility for Barber Foods’ Consumer, Food Service and National Account divisions, as well as all areas of expense control.
Currently serving as CEO, he plays an integral role in all areas of the business in addition to his continued focus on sales and marketing.
Mr. Barber graduated from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
